Taylar Ariane Young
At the age of 5, Taylar started twirling batons following in her mother’s footsteps. It was her 6th grade year at St. Mary’s Academy that she decided to try something new.
Adjusting to twirling flags was a bit difficult but she got through it. Once Taylar
transferred to Eleanor McMain Secondary School she joined their team. She is a six
year veteran, where she served as captain for two years, all under the leadership of Dr.
Todrick Carmouche. Dedicated to her craft, she became the flag team’s assistant for
two years after graduation.

Along with being the coach for CPAA, Taylar is a third year student at Xavier
University of Louisiana majoring in Chemistry. Therefore, she believes in hard work and
dedication, along with respect, education, and proper etiquette: the qualities that are a
MUST to be a “Twirling Titan.”

When CPAA accepted her as a coach, her ideas for the flag team began flowing
and flowing. Known to her girls as “Spons,” she says, “Thanks to Dr. Carmouche for
giving me the opportunity to represent his organization. Being a coach for CPAA is very
exciting and gives me a chance to do what I do best, and that’s twirling flags!
